The city of Woodbridge is situated within Prince William County in the Northern Virginia Region. It is home to around 5,000 residents, highly rated schools, and is just 20 miles south of our nation’s capital.  Woodbridge also provides for easy commutes to both Ft. Belvoir and Quantico.

This D.C. suburb offers the convenience of surrounding towns and cities from the 95 Express with the added bonus of natural beauty. The town borders beautiful Belmont Bay and hosts part of the acreage of the Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge.

Peruse-Worthy Places

Families of teens and young children will find no shortage of things to do in Woodbridge. Two unique stops to make our list are Vibe, an interactive selfie exhibit, and Aim Point, an air-soft shooting range in an upbeat carnival-like environment. Some more popular stops like Build-a-Bear Workshop, Bowl America, and Escape Room Woodbridge provide familiar, dependable fun for the whole family!

For a delicious dining experience, locals love The Harbour Grille, a laid back restaurant with a classic menu of American fare and live music. The place offers views of the Occoquan River along its outdoor deck seating, plus a delicious cocktail menu. If you’re in the mood for steak, check out Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, a high-end restaurant serving up mouthwatering American fare in a scratch kitchen and speciality crafted cocktails. The Potomac Mills Mall also offers a variety of convenient dining options, ranging from fast-casual to high-end dining.

The Great Outdoors

In Woodbridge, going outdoors is a must-do. Start with Leesylvania State Park. This national treasure is listed on the National Register of Historic Landmarks, and it offers several water sports opportunities. The aforementioned wildlife refuge is also a great place to go to relax, observe, and explore. Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge offers marshes, meadows, woods, and shorelines all in a serene setting that will make anyone feel like they’re “away from it all”.  Not to be missed is Prince William Forest Park which provides for great outdoor activities.

For an easier shopping trip, residents can find it all at Potomac Mills Mall. As one of the largest malls in the Northern Virginia Region, the center boasts over 225 national brand stores and outlets. Fossil, Calvin Klein, Lucky Brand, Coach — all of your shopping needs are here. Plus, there are plenty of specialty stores for an added twist to your shopping excursion, such as Pepper Palace (check out the tasting bar), Beef Jerky Experience, and Candy World.

Transportation

In addition to easy access to I-95, the Woodbridge community provides numerous other wonderful options for transportation.  Omni Ride a Prince William County specialty  provides comfortable bus service to employment centers and also ride sharing opportunities.  There is also a VRE stop in Woodbridge.  The VRE, The Virginia Railway Express, offers commuter train service into Alexandria and D.C.
